The Country Grocer Challenge was an excellent way to conclude the Lake Cowichan Kraken 2024 ID Camp.
Team Country Grocer and Team South Shore Cabinetry put on a spirited affair that was enjoyed by all attendees.
The day before started with the 3-on-3 series by Team Gas-N-Go and Team Pemberton Holmes.
The Kraken and Country Grocer then hosted a Player / Parent Orientation and Luncheon. The day concluded with a game between Team Plante Homes and Team Happy Campers which provided exciting entertainment.
The first day of Camp were practices hosted by Ts’uubaa-asatx and Dry Dock Marine. The day concluded with a delicious barbecue.
The three-day ID Camp comprised of practices, an evening barbecue, luncheon, and games, these events allowed all young Kraken hopefuls to showcase their skills, abilities and learn more about Junior hockey and the VIJHL.
The Kraken wish to thank all the players and families who attended. A special thank you to Country Grocer who provided nutritious eats that helped keep all the athletes well fuelled.
While we appreciate the kind words expressed by Camp attendees about the Camp and the community, it was really the collective efforts of the Country Grocer staff, community volunteers, team sponsors and supporters, team representatives, arena staff, respective billet families and the official welcome by Mayor McGonigle which all helped to demonstrate the passion and commitment of our Lake Cowichan community. Thank you to all.
